Metroid (titled Metroid-Morph Ball in the original release) is one of 9-Volt's microgames from WarioWare: Twisted!. It returns in WarioWare Gold as one of 18-Volt's microgames. It is based on the first Metroid game, and its graphics are specifically reused from the original Famicom Disk System release.

Gameplay

WarioWare: Twisted! gameplay

The goal is to have Samus Aran acquire a Missile Tank. When the microgame begins, Samus enters her Morph Ball form, and tilting the game console alters the gravity of the stage, as if it were being turned. Pressing A Button activates the Spring Ball, an ability that was not present in the first Metroid. Unlike the Metroid microgame in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, there is no HUD, although touching a Zoomer or Acid results in Samus's instant death, causing the player to lose at the microgame.

The area is different in each of the three difficulty settings. The first difficulty level has the Brinstar theme and one Zoomer (one variation has a Door while another has a red Air Hole), while the second difficulty level always has a Chozo Statue holding the expansion with Kraid's Lair's theme, and the third difficulty level always consists of acid and plays the Silence theme.

Samus usually wears her Power Suit, although on some rare occasions, she may instead be in her Varia Suit leotard from Metroid's Nintendo Entertainment System release.
