Metroid is a microgame found in 9-Volt's folder in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$!. The microgame re-enacts the fight between Samus Aran and Mother Brain in Metroid.

The sound effects in the microgame are slightly different, with the Missile shots sounding more like when the Kiru Giru from Metroid: Zero Mission is pushed back. The microgame uses the Tourian theme instead of the Zebetite theme like in Metroid. There is also a slight alarm blaring when Mother Brain is destroyed, likely referencing the Family Computer Disk System version.

Gameplay

The goal is for Samus to shoot a total of five Missiles to defeat Mother Brain, with the first missile being used to destroy Mother Brain's Control Capsule. There are Cannons that fire, although they cannot hit Samus's position. Samus is wearing the Varia Suit and has 99 Missiles and 8 Energy Tanks but zero Energy. Samus cannot move around, although she can turn into her Morph Ball form and back.

In the second and third difficulty levels, Mother Brain fires two or three projectiles at Samus. This causes a failure if they touch her, but Samus can destroy them with one missile or dodge them using the Morph Ball. Rinkas are also present in both difficult levels, and they can block Missiles as well as hit Samus. Taking a hit from a Rinka only causes Samus to shake.
