New Play Control! (known in Japan as Wii de Asobu) is a selection of Nintendo GameCube games reissued and updated for play on the Wii. The main difference and selling point is the addition of motion controls for the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

Two Metroid-related titles have been reissued as New Play Control! titles, Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, released as New Play Control! Metroid Prime and New Play Control! Metroid Prime 2: Dark Echoes respectively. Both versions use a similar control scheme to the one used in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. As standalone titles, the New Play Control! port for both Metroid Prime titles were exclusive to Japan, as in North America, Europe, and Australia, they were instead included on a compilation title, Metroid Prime Trilogy, alongside Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

New Play Control! Metroid Prime, released in Japan on February 19, 2009, has a largely similar menu interface but with a few changes. The Bonus Credit system introduced in Corruption returns here, and is used to unlock the Fusion Suit, while Metroid is no longer available as a bonus. The Screen-Shot Tool has been implemented, and the Scan Visor reticule has been changed.

New Play Control! Metroid Prime 2: Dark Echoes, released in Japan on June 11, 2009, retains the Multiplayer mode, although the Data Network style of menu has been replaced with the one like in Metroid 3: Corruption.
