Sameow is a cat who is main character of the Mewtroid souvenir game in WarioWare: Twisted! and later WarioWare Gold, in which it returns as the protagonist of Mewtroid 2: Return of Sameow. Sameow is a parody of Samus Aran, whom it takes the role of, and has to use its Paw Cannon (a parody of the Arm Cannon) to shoot down insects. Although Sameow is a parody of Samus, it does not resemble her, especially because Sameow does not wear a Power Suit.
The name Sameow is a portmanteau of "Samus," the main protagonist of the Metroid franchise, and "meow," a sound generally made by kittens. In WarioWare: Twisted!, Sameow went unnamed.
